In my years of service to the community I have always kept an open dialogue with Lake County residents, and this website is just one more way to communicate with constituents. This site will be updated regularly so you know firsthand what is going on in the legislature and how decisions made in state government can affect you.

I have also included links to commonly requested information about the state, so you can use this site as a quick way to link to the information you need.

If you have any questions about legislation, issues facing our area, need help in dealing with state government or if you need to register to vote, do not hesitate to call the district office at (224) 372-7465 or the Springfield office at (217) 782-7353, or o e-mail me at StateSenatorSchmidt@gmail.com. You can always expect a prompt response from our office because constituents are my first priority.

If you happen to be in the area please stop by the district office at the Lake Villa Township offices in Caboose Park at 37908 N. Fairfield Road, Lake Villa, IL 60046, or if you are in Springfield, you can visit our State Capitol office at 103 D State House, Springfield, IL 62706.

The district office is open between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Please call before you arrive, because, while we do our best to keep the office open during these hours, unexpected circumstances may rarely cause us to close.
